Aquinas
Learning Support Program
The Diocese of Allentown is committed to the concept that all children are unique, learn at different rates and are to be challenged to their fullest potential.
The Aquinas Learning Support Program (ALSP) is for students with diagnosed learning disabilities at the elementary and secondary levels. Its unique emphasis is on learning strategies and study skills to help children foster independence. Students are challenged to learn self-
acceptance, self-discipline, cooperation skills, consistent work habits, and become responsible members in the community.
Elementary students receive specialized instruction for half the school day to address their learning disability. They join their peers in their own grade levels for religion, social studies, science, physical education, music, computer and art, thereby assuring integration.
Secondary students are rostered into the general education classes including a Learning Strategies Class one period per day.
